The 72nd Street Duplex

The project story

Two homes share one striking architectural composition at 4619 72 Street NW. Paired front gables give the duplex its silhouette, while contrasting charcoal and white facades create a strong sense of identity for each side.

Large windows bring daylight into both residences. On one side, warm wood slat detailing softens the darker cladding; on the other, crisp white surfaces and dark panels offer a complementary expression. Separate entrances, individual front walks and landscaped planters make the transition from the shared building to each private home feel natural.

Designed as a semi-detached development, the project balances the efficiency of two homes on one site with the individuality of distinct street-facing residences. Its carefully composed materials and repeated forms have become a memorable part of Baadani Development’s completed portfolio.
